Removed Roslovic, which is a pending UFA, as expecting their current contract status being overvalued will be moved on from even if he's not traded.

Personally I think Texier will not be on this team next year but I included them into this roster for completeness. Based on the enclosed databook Texier right now is not even worth his current contract as a 4th line player.

Peeke is a strong possibility for a U26 buyout if not traded in March.

Jiricek has a strong possibility of being an NHL regular next year so a move might be made for Boqvist during the summer but until it happens he remains on the team.

Provorov is just here to keep the seat warm for Mateychuk, which will probably be seasoned next year in Cleveland to start. When the trade comes for Provorov, which potentially could come this year, expect half his salary to be retained at $2,376,250, with the role being swapped to Mateychuk, Svozil or Christiansen.

-Malatesta has a game/"skill set" that could potentially get him on the Jacket's next year as an annoying 4th line player. I can see him being Tex's replacement.

-Keep an eye on Dumais, most likely spend his entire time in Cleveland next year but just a player to watch,

If we remove the salaries of Texier/Provorov/Boqvist, Columbus could potentially have a free agent signing up to $6,480,000

This morning was ROUGH.

I would be very surprised if both Bean and Provorov were on this team next season. Peeke needs to go so I agree that he is a buyout candidate. I'm interested to see what a new GM decides to do with our goalie situation. I know we'll be testing the waters on shipping Elvis out but no idea if anyone would want him. I do think if no one wants him we'll keep him tho and not buy him out.

The Monsters are going to be stacked next season, especially if Brindley goes pro instead of back to Michigan for a junior year. Mateychuk and Dumais will be joining Malatesta, LDBB, Svozil, Ceulemans, etc.

Then my thoughts turn to the top-6 pick (as of right now, it cannot be worse). If first overall, obviously Celebrini starts in Columbus. If one of the other top juniors players (Lindstrom, Catton, Dickinson), I think they probably get sent back to junior for another year. Silayev or Demidov the decision is made for you since they're both under contract in Russia, and Helenius probably stays in Liiga another year. Then there's the college guys. If it's Levshunov or Buium, do they go back to MSU/Denver or go pro? Probably not quite ready for the NHL, so that would mean Cleveland--imagine Mateychuk and Levshunov on a pairing together. Eiserman just doesn't feel like a Columbus pick, but who knows with a new GM and if the scouting/front office staff leave, and I highly doubt they do more than give Parekh a cursory look since his skillset is pretty well represented in the org already.

This should be a very interesting, exciting summer and next few years even if the Blue Jackets on ice product isn't playoff-caliber.
