Description
The Kraken are in a weird spot right now, and we don't know what they will ultimately do at the trade deadline this year. If they choose to stay in the playoff race, I don't really see them buying any more and they'll probably just treat the veterans on expiring deals they have as own rentals. So instead I'll examine the scenario where the Kraken decide to soft sell and trade those veteran rentals.

For this exercise, I'm only considering Seattle's veteran rental players as trade candidates, as I don't see them trading away any important players with term/RFA control. For each player in question, I've used recent deals for players of a similar profile/position as trade comparables, and adjusted the compensation up or down depending on how Seattle's player compares to the previously traded player. The specific teams aren't really important, but for the most part I did choose teams where there have been a number of ACGMs of them proposing trades for one or more of these players, as a bit of a blanket response and to define what I think a reasonable deadline return would look like.

As always, helpful feedback is welcome! Cheers and Go Kraken!

Détails additionnels:
Trade Comp: John Klingberg to the Wild at the 2023 trade deadline for Andre Sustr, Nikita Nesterenko, and a 2025 4th round pick.

The meat of the Klingberg trade was essentially a dart throw prospect and a fourth rounder three drafts out from the trade. Schultz is a very similar player to Klingberg but has been better both offensively and defensively than him over the last couple of years. Combine that with his cap hit being half of Klingberg's at the time of the deal, and I think he could land a somewhat upgraded package with a third rounder two drafts away instead of the fourth rounder three drafts away, along with a similar late round dart throw forward prospect.

Détails additionnels:
Trade Comp: Sean Monahan to the Jets for a 2024 1st round pick and a conditional 2027 3rd round pick.

The Monahan and Lindholm trades set a high bar for rental center deals this deadline. Wennberg doesn't produce nearly as much offensively as Monahan, but is more well rounded when it comes to playmaking for others and contributing defensively. Because offense tends to be a more scarce commodity around the deadline, Wennberg won't fetch as much as Monahan, but I think he still could fetch a good draft pick that has the potential to become a first rounder. A conditional second rounder plus a change of scenery candidate seems about right with how the center market has been set this year.
NYR
  1. Wennberg, Alexander (2 250 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Conditional pick; the 2024 2nd round pick upgrades to a 2024 1st round pick if the Rangers make the Eastern Conference Final.

Détails additionnels:
Trade Comp: Vladimir Tarasenko and Niko Mikkola to the Rangers at the 2023 trade deadline for Samuel Blais, Hunter Skinner, a 2023 1st round pick, and a conditional 2024 4th round pick that later upgraded to a 2024 3rd round pick.

I broke this deal down as Tarasenko for Blais and the first rounder, and Mikkola for Skinner and the fourth/third rounder. Eberle and Tarasenko are both offensively driven right wingers who can step up come playoff time. Rental top six complementary scorers like them have typically gone for first rounders in the past, so this valuation is nothing new, especially considering Eberle has elevated his game as of late. Ironically, Tarasenko finds himself on the trade block once again this year, so I wouldn't expect any movement on Eberle until he gets dealt. It's also important to note that Seattle is apparently interested in keeping Eberle around and extending him, so there's a chance he ends up staying put.
EDM
  1. Eberle, Jordan (2 750 000 $ retained)
4.
SEA
  1. Choix de 4e ronde en 2024 (FLA)
Détails additionnels:
Trade comp: Tomáš Tatar to the Kraken for a 2024 5th round pick.

For this trade comp, we can use the deal that brought Tatar to the Kraken in the first place. Tatar has turned things around somewhat in Seattle following his brief tenure in Colorado, so Seattle should be able to net a slightly higher pick than they dealt away for him.

I believe Leafs would pass. I think they are more in the market for a shutdown RD who can kill penalties and play on the right side of Morgan Rielly. I don’t think Schultz fits that bill

Foegele >> Eberle. Edmonton wouldn't do a straight trade let alone adding their 1st. Why do Kraken fans think someone will give up a 1st for Eberle?

Foegele > Eberle are you high?? But anyways, I would think Lavoie + a 2nd is a more reasonable price for Eberle

I can see the Rangers trading for Wennberg, but not paying that much. Robertson plus a 4th or 5th round pick OR a 2nd round pick with no conditional 1st.

5v5 scoring year:

WF: 56, 11-15-26
JE: 54, 7-14-21

Foegele is bigger, faster & more physical. He shoots more, he scores more, he goes to the net harder, he relies less on teammates to get points.

Yeah no, I'm not high.

I believe the Leafs are looking for a PK guy more than a PP guy as we already have Rielly and Lily for PP

Nothing against Ebs but I think EDM would rather keep Foegele, he provides more of what we need atm.
I think at his cap hit and what it may cost to get him Ebs to EDM just isn't realistic (though would be nostalgic).
