That first deal really favours Buffalo
Pettersson >> Tage
Willander ~= Benson
Savoie ~= Lekkerimaki
Hoglander > Greenway
Aman < Krebs
No reason for us to give up our top 2 prospects, especially a RHD that we drafted over Benson to be Hughes future partner, on top of Pettersson unless we’re getting a better player than him

Petey's eyeing Niagara property per EF
IMO you nailed it

If Buffalo was trading only for Pettersson Buffalo would need to give up Thompson, Savoie and 2024 first, with the understanding that he would sign here.
As a UFA, look to the Lindholm trade, a first and a good prospect.
While Benson is playing very well (his stats do not reveal how well he has played) and we will never know, but if both Willander and Benson were available last draft, Buffalo probably would have drafted the RHD.
There is absolutely no comparison, Buffalo wins this trade by a wide margine and they should give Elias what ever he wants.
BTW, you may not know this but the cost of living in Buffalo is significantly less than Vancouver.
