Given that the Leafs lost both games to Boston in regulation, the Leafs are in no man's land between Boston/Florida and Tampa/Detroit.
The 2 vs 3 seed in the Atlantic is going to be a bloodbath, and the Leafs are 8 points behind Boston/Florida and Tampa/Detroit
The annoying thing is that whoever does better between Boston and Florida gets to escape that first round matchup and play a wild card team
However, whoever does better between Tampa and Detroit also gets to avoid that first round matchup, and probably escape the Atlantic entirely
An 8 point gap is difficult to make up without a massive streak (winning or losing) especially with less than 20 games remaining
