Capitals need to get younger

Description
The Capitals are so hot and cold its insane. They need to retool this team and get younger or they will have some trouble not being dead-last next season with an aging core.

Charlie is our goalie for the rest of the year for sure. We will have to ride with him and than whoever we can trade for as a backup. Kuemper does not fit on this team.

Give Lapierre a chance back with the big club. He didn't look out of place but he just wasn't scoring.

Sign Leonard and Cristall at the end of their seasons. Leonard makes the line-up when he signs for sure. Cristall will need more time to develop. Bring over Persson and see if he potentially beats out LaPierre for the third line center spot. OR sign a new center in the off season.

The only way to get younger is to rebuild. Same thing Penguins need to do. Nature of the salary cap era NHL. The team has their peak and then they decline into irrelevancy.

Would love VGK and WPG made those deals but they aren't for rentals.

Caps giving up too much in the COL deal. Byram's health history is way too erratic to trade for plus he's having a poor season analytically.
