For what purpose? To sit him in the press box? Chicago is not going to take Grzelcyk and the $2.4m in cap hit difference just because Boston fans want them to.
At least Blackwell is playing, if they move Blackwell it will be for a late round draft pick.
The title is "what would it take". So, I think he is asking what it would take for them to get Blackwell and move Gryz's contract.
My answer would be that, Blackwell is worth a mid to late round draft pick, lets call it a 4th. Like
@Hawksguy81 said, you'd have to pay us to take Gryz. If CHI were to take his contract on Deadline day, that would make CHI liable for around $1.4M in actual salary with a $3.6875M cap hit. Negligible enough for a team like CHI. But to CHI he would be a pure cap dump that will go to free agency in the summer and never wear a Blackhawks sweater again. So, maybe a mid to late round pick for that as well, let's call it a 4th. Add those values together and you get two 4ths. I think in this case we could command like a 2026 3rd, offsetting the value by making it two years down the road, and call it a day.
So, Blackwell for Gryz (cap dump) + 2026 3rd round pick. And if you don't want to tread Gryz like a cap dump, find a team that actually needs him. Which I think it is possible that there could be teams interested in him as a positive asset. But, they probably aren't gonna pay much, and most teams that might want him for a playoff run probably can't take on his cap hit.
