Description

Kings fans... calm down, no need to get upset. Insert any other team in that spot.

Other than that, I'd love to hear your thoughts on these trades. How does the value stack up?

For reference:
Merkulov: 22y/o top 5 scorer in the AHL. Projects as a middle 6 center
Lysell: 21y/o almost PPG player in the AHL. Projects as a middle or top 6 winger
Lohrei: Has looked good in the Bruins top pair when called up. 23y/o, 6'5 dman. Certainly a top 4, likely top pairing guy. Bruins best prospect aside from maybe Poitras.

Hertl is out for the rest of the season, This would completely be a summertime deal.

Sorry but Linus Ullmak blocks 1/2 of the league. He isn't getting no 1st round pick out of any team.

And i'm sorry on most teams Grzelcyk would be a bottom pairing LHD he's not returning no 2nd round pick.

Hertl trade you can drop the 2nd and 3rd and maybe even downgrade one of Lysell/GM to a mid-tier prospect and I think SJ would still accept.

i think you will have a hard time moving all that salary out mid season with no retention or contracts coming back.

hertl is out for basically the rest of the regular season though, so i guess theoretically you could acquire him on LTIR, and hope hes ready to go come playoff time. then you dont need to unload as many contracts.

probably, in the hanafin trade, you could simply add one of gryz or forbert to that trade directly. kinda in like a cap in/cap out kind of move with boston adding. similar to what Calgary just did when they traded away kuzmenko

I’m all for dumping Grizz and Forbort and trading for Hanifin.

However I’m not giving up both Lohrei and 1st. It’s one or the other and negotiate the rest of the package.

Also moving out cap without retaining will be tough.

I’m not paying that for Hertl hurt or healthy. But I have never wanted him anyway. Don’t like the contract.

Devils would probably take Ullmark for that (would be our 25 1st tho to avoid complications with SJS conditions and protections).
