Fwiw I’m neither a kings or ranger fan. I just … like chaos and PLD is becoming a meme, fairly or unfairly. To be honest I don’t get to watch many kings games due to timezone, so I dunno if he’s actually been a slouch or whatever.

I’d agree the value is off on this silly trade - but when considering what the kings just spent to get pld: a 23 y/o, 11th OA 6’3’’ forward, a 22 y/o, 20th OA forward, a roster fill, and a 2nd….that’s a whole lot.

The jets are giving Vilardi above 17 min a game on season average, you cannot hide that many minutes…that’s substantial for his age, and the teams record speaks for itself. That’s Kakko-level impact, except Vilardi can skate center.

I’m not downplaying Kakko, maybe just more impressed by what the jets received and how it’s played out for them. They got a lot. But the above trade is way bad from value perspective.

It would be funny to see what GM would be insane enough to do that.
