Explain how they are so insane, for the Arizona trade Toronto gets Keller, he’s worth a top6 player and a 1st plus a prospect depending on the top6 player, for crouse we are sending back Gregor a speedy defensive foward who could be top6 on Arizona plus a 3rd and a 5th. Then Nashville gets a samsonov, petruzelli 3rd and a 4th for saros how is that a bad return and then McCarron and reaves are 1for1, Robertson is worth a 2nd to 3rd round pick easily and you send a gritty 4th liner who has Stanley cup expierence to get that 1st how is that trade insane, the Edmonton trade meets all needs they get depth defensemen on both sides and they get a pretty good backup goaltender who can eat games so skinner doesn’t play every games I’m sorry but that is worth a 2 and a 3rd for Edmonton to get. The Chicago one is a little far fetched but Minten is 19 with top6 potential, it fits bedards timeline and can play alongside him that’s probably worth a 2nd they also bring in a utility guy in mcmann who can play all positions at foward and Lajoie who Is a cheap defensemen and somewhat young which I think is worth a 4th. I AM NO GM IN THE NHL SIMPLY JUST HAVING FUN, KEEP THAT IN MIND. Anyway feel free to criticize.

How is the Arizona one bad.

To sum it up quickly:

1) You're asking for two pieces that Arizona has no interest in moving
2) You're asking for 4.3M in retention for 3-4 years on those two pieces, which costs a lot itself
3) The value you're offering is so far off what Arizona would get for those two pieces if they were to move them without retention, let alone with that much retention

Bertuzzi has virtually no value here as a pending UFA that walks at the end of the season, Arizona doesn't want or need him
Gregor is a typical 4th liner, again little to no value, Arizona has plenty of these
Hirvonen is a pretty mediocre prospect, dime a dozen guy that again Arizona has, or will have, in spades, given their rebuild, he doesn't move the needle
A late 1st? Fine, but Keller and Crouse both return a 1st+ each if traded, so that can't be your only piece of true value in the return for both, with 4.3M in retention

Nick Robertson wouldn't play ahead of Quint Byfield, Kevin Fiala, Adrian Kempe or Trevor Moore, so Los Angeles wouldn't pay more than a third-round draft pick for him. The Kings wouldn't pick Kyle Clifford up off waivers; there's a reason why he's only played 27 games in the NHL over the past three seasons and has been in the AHL for this entire one. It's hard to buy the idea that you have a good-faith belief that he and Robertson together are worth a first-round draft pick from a team that has an abundance of forwards.

This isn't the only trade proposal in this ACGM that is troll-level.

How is the Arizona one bad.

The Arizona one isn't bad, it's awful. Elsewhere you break this down as Keller is "worth a top6 player and a 1st plus a prospect" and obviously you think that Bertuzzi is that top-6 player -- news flash: he isn't close; moreover, Bertuzzi is a UFA and Keller has FOUR MORE SEASONS left on his contract, which means that Bertuzzi is essentially valueless by comparison. And Arizona has three better wing prospects than Hirvonen, so he's a nullity from their point of view. That is utterly inadequate for Keller; in fact, the entire package is inadequate for him alone even without $8.6 million in retention to the most cash-strapped club in the League. As far as Crouse goes, he's a top-6 player which Gregor is not now and never will be; there's a reason why Gregor is on a league-minimum contract and has played in 225 NHL games while Lawson Crouse's cap hit is $4.3 million and has played in 470 NHL games despite being only one year older.

In short, this trade proposal is CapFriendly Hall-of-Shame-worthy.
