if the hawks are shopping murphy this would probably get it done, but I doubt they want to move him this year.

Hawks aren't trading Murphy. And this offer wouldn't change their minds.

If the Hawks are moving Murphy, I think a 1st is the piece they will want coming back (or they don't move Murphy as they have seemed to move towards building a core group of vets (Foligno, Dickinson, and Mrazek extensions) and they'll just hang on to Murphy as that core vet to help guide the rebuild). I also think the Hawks will be looking for a viable RHD option in return as they are devoid of anything other than Jones after this year interanlly with Rinzel probably another couple years out from even being an option. I think to deal with Toronto, one of Lilegren, Niemela, or at least Timmins would need to be part of the package.

My counter would be Murphy and the Ottawa 3rd for '24 1st and Niemela
