LOL, Lindholm is worth more than Nelson.
Lindholm had one season with more than 30 goals, when he spent 2021-22 riding with Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau. Since those guys left, he scored at a 21-40-61 with no real change in his deployment and his most common 5v5 linemates being Tyler Toffoli, Jonathan Huberdeau, Dillon Dube, & Andrew Mangiapane.
Since the beginning of that same season (2021-22), Brock Nelson has averaged just a hair under 38 goals per 82 GP with his most common linemates being Kyle Palmieri, Anthony Beauvillier, Anders Lee, Pierre Engvall, & Josh Bailey. Would you take any of those guys over the guys that Lindholm has been skating with the past two seasons?
One of these guys' production tends to be based on the guys he skates with; one of these guys tends to excel no matter what caliber of linemate you stick him with. When you add in the fact that the guy who makes his linemates better also has another year of term and isn't just a rental, I think it's hard to say that Lindholm is worth more than Nelson is.
