Perhaps some Blues fans will jump at this, but for me it's a no. If a Buch offer contains neither a 24 1st nor an enticing D prospect, I'm not interested. Frankly, Id want it to have both. Pettersson falls a little short of enticing for me. I'm not saying the offer is bad, but it's not one that makes me want to come off Buch AND trade Sunny after he rejected better offers to return for the minimum.

Not sure why STL would be laughing when this is a very good offer for Buch. Lekkerimaki is a very high end prospect. Mikheyev is a solid middle 6 winger. Pettersson is developing nicely and is a good defensive prospect. Then also a 1st and a 3rd. I can’t imagine you get much more value than this for Buch. If you want the best prospect in the trade to be a dman like your other Blues fans have said that’s fine, but I wouldn’t say this is a laughable offer

Mokumboi - you do know the 25 draft is projected to be much deeper than the 24 draft right? There’s basically 15 guys in 24 than a pretty big drop off. Much more in 25.

I'm not interested in waiting for a 1st. I'd want it now to have more ammo to trade up in 24. And while the 25 may be deeper (which I find to be a premature call anyway), it ain't gonna be deeper in top end Dmen. Yeah, there's great value, but like I said, if I'm trading Buch I want certain things back. Those things are not in this offer.

Could we negotiate to rearrange a couple pieces? If so, I'd prefer to do that. If not, well, I'm fine keeping Buch. What I'm not fine with is shipping out our best trade chip without anything coming back to solve our primary problem.

No, it's not anywhere near laughable. But trades aren't just about value out of context. Out of context, it's a pretty plum offer. In context, it creates more problems for the current Blues team than it solves. By a lot. If the Blues were in a total teardown long term rebuild, they'd obviously jump at it. But they're not. They are quite intent on not throwing away the primes of Thomas and Kyrou, and it's the right call.
