Why would Landeskog get traded?

I love Kadri, but the problem with his contract is the term. If the Avs wanted him until his late 30s, they would have signed that contract themselves (probably cheaper too).

Hanifin is obviously a great player but I don’t see the fit. I’d rather just keep Byram for an extra year. Or trade him for a younger 2C fit.

I don't understand what's going on here. Landy will hopefully come back healthy by next season, but that's a pretty big if.

In any case, the Avs aren't moving him, and he doesn't waive his NMC for Calgary. That is unless he officially LTIRetires, but then why would the Flames want him?

No it isn’t. COL let Kadri walk why would they want him back when he is more expensive, older and playing worse? Johansen has proven completely incapable of playing in COL top 6. Nichushkin is in the PAP not LTIR. COL has patiently waited for their captain to the tune of signing him to an extension 2 years ago and still waiting for him to play he is that integral to the locker room. Long term it sucks because you created more holes not less in creating a whole in the top 6 and top 4, and it doesn’t address their most important need 2G.

Colorado wouldn't make this trade bc Landeskog is the culture of the Avalanche

Colorado can't do this bc they are relying on Landeskog's LTIR space to fit under the cap. If the Avs trade Landeskog, they would be over the cap without adding Hanifin or Kadri.
