Description

Let's face it, NYR are crumbling pretenders. They have no business buying at the deadline (no chance at a Cup), but because they are the Rangers, led by a clueless GM and owner, they will buy anyway. Since it's such a guarantee, they might as well get guys with term and shake up the roster as much as possible - difficult to do since Drury hands out NMCs like candy.

ANA will definitely pass on that. LD has no value with our prospect logjam there. Sykora and a late ‘25 isn’t at all enticing enough for our leading scorer and great locker room presence. We’ll wait until next TDL and take a bit less unless it’s an offer we can’t refuse

You're not wrong lol. It would definitely take more. Thought was Miller is 24 to Theodore's 28, lower cap hit now and probably lower on his next deal too (VGK always doing cap gymnastics), and Miller has tools to be even better than Theodore - if VGK feel good about developing him like they did Hague, thought they may bite.

I doubt he's available too. But thought was Kakko has a similar play style and MIN could re-create him for a lot cheaper, get a 2024 1st while rebuilding, and get upgrade/younger on D with a hometown boy Lindgren over Middleton. Goodrow results in cap credit if bought out next year, then pennies in future years with cap rising.
