Odd, because that "haul" doesn't begin to get Zegras.

Reichel is a poor replacement for Zegras, Hayes is bottom 6 upside, and a late, future first round pick doesn't solve what Anaheim needs, which is star level talent. So why in the world would we take that?

I don't think the hawks take it. Reichel is in slump rookie year but his talent is undeniable, he's having a difficult time adjusting or fighting an undisclosed injury. Hayes is middle 6 upside. a 2025 1st and 2024 2nd are valuable to a rebuilding team. That's 4 potential roster spots in exchange for one guy who's very offensively talented but doesn't have the best attitude and doesn't play much defense.

Yeah, he is man, not sure what blinders you are wearing to not see that, it's prescious few rookies who put up 60+ points as a rookie.

His attitude problems are completely overblown by the media and he's been playing great defensively this year, were it not for his injuries limiting him to this few games that tired narrative would be put to bed by now. We're not trading top line talent for middle 6 pieces, even 4 of them.

Zegras is a high level player. But the Hawks aren't at a point yet where they give up that many assets for a single player.

Great defensively is overreaching. He's done better defensively but he's hardly great.

His underlying stats suggest he’s closer to the bottom 10% than 50%. I haven’t seen a good defensive player, but i have minimum exposure
