Just like the other one that looks like this, EDM says no. They'll be better off waiting and buying him out.

Yes

Seems very iffy. If they want Eberle back he’s probably 5-6 million minimum and Wennberg is close to another 5 million. Things would get very tight. This seems like an all in move from a team that will likely miss the playoffs this year. They’d be better off selling and getting Guentzel in UFA

I think Guentzel to SEA makes a ton of sense actually. Although I will say "soft rebuild" sounds to me like they are going full blown rebuild but trying to ease into it and frame it differently. Friedman mentioned he thinks they'll try and collect assets for 2-3 years. At that point it's basically a rebuild.

I think that's what they do around the big three of Crosby Malkin Letang -- I think Karlsson probably stays bc of his NMC and cap hit, but if the Pens get a really good offer, they will approach hum about moving.

I don't think Smith would be a priority for the Sens by any means, but if they don't keep Tarasenko, he could be a nice 3RW for cheap enough

I agree, but I wouldn't be shocked with anyone being moved. Friedman said it will be interesting to see what happens with all the core players with NMC. I don't think all 4 will be moved, but I can see a situation where maybe 1-2 of them are.

I can't see Malkin making a big deal to stay (with his social media posts and everything that happened) to be traded. Crosby went to bat for him and it would be a bad look. They earned their right to ride it out all together. Same with Letang, he took less and those three legit would die for one another. Again, Karlsson with retention could spark a pretty good rebuild.

I could definitely see Karlsson being moved and it wouldn't shock me if it's the deadline or offseason. With the core I think it'll come down to what they want to do. I think they've earned the right to compete elsewhere if they want and they definitely have earned the right to retire as penguins.

I might be in the minority for Columbus fans, but I have been and will continue to be a huge fan of a Peeke-Graves swap. I don't even mind the pick balance favoring Pittsburgh if you're retaining $750K.

hmmm not sure if Smith would be the type of the player Sens need to target but at 2.5 AAV, have to consider it
