laugh Jarmo Kekalainen laugh and blocks Ken Hollands number, Not even close for both Boone jenner and David Jiricek. You're at least missing another 1st round pick and high end prospect.

Outside of Draisatl, nothing the Oilers can offer would interest Columbus to make this trade.

It is absolutely not missing another 1st and a high end prospect lol. A 1st+ for Jenner is enough. A high end prospect would just mean a 1 for 1 for Jiricek. He isnt generational enough to get more than a 1 for 1 with another high end prospect lol.

Oh my god we're back to the Jenner discussion too.

It's absolutely missing another 1st and high end prospect. Arguably it's missing a 1st and A high end prospect, on top of Bourgault.

Jenner = 1st, 2nd, A-level prospect. Anything less and we'll just keep our 2C captain on one of the best deals in the league, or at least find another team.
(You really think Colorado, a team exactly one 2C and a backup goalie from the closest thing we've seen to hockey perfection in a while, wouldn't absolutely launch a 1st, 2nd, and Ritchie out the door for 3 cracks at a Cup with Jenner at $3.75M, especially if it means a team like Edmonton doesn't get him?).

Jiricek = Top-5 pick or U23 1RD. Anything less and we'll just keep our guy who will absolutely be 1RD before he's 23.
(You really think Toronto, a team with a dire need for cheap RD, wouldn't absolutely launch a 1st, 2nd, Cowan, +++ out the door to have Jiricek on his ELC for 3 years, and likely forever after that?).

Lets get real here. We've got enough middling prospects and filler players. We need quality, and we have that in Jenner and Jiricek. If you're getting both, you're sending us Draisaitl.

Edmontons not trading for a guy who demands PP time and whines about proper development. Character and culture means everything to a cup contending program in Edmonton. CBJ can keep their head ache like they kept Elvis. I wouldn’t even trade a late 1st for Jiricek. Well maybe just to flip him to the next sucker.

Jenner for a 1st, 2nd and an A level prospect? Bro, Chicago got less for 40 goal scorer DeBrincat from Ottawa and that's nearly what Eichel's return was lmao. That's a crazy thing to say. He's defintely only worth a 1st, maybe a 2nd (probably a 3rd), and a B level prospect. This is Boone Jenner, not Mark Schiefele.

But you're right about Jiricek's value, yeah. I also never said he's going go to Edmonton for that value, but I thought you were implying that he fetches a 1st and a high end prospect when Jiricek is only a high end prospect, not a generational one. So if a high end prospect is in play, all you're going to get is a 1 for 1 or maybe a sweetner along with the high end prospect for Jiricek. Why would anyone need to give up more than that. It's a high end prospect for a high end prospect.

Respectfully, I think the keys differences here are 1) Jenner is a center, vs. a winger in DeBrinat, 2) DeBrincat is obviously the better player, but was also making almost twice as much at the time of the trade as Jenner is now, with only one year left on his deal too (vs. Jenner still has 2), and 3) Chicago wanted to sell DeBrincat; Columbus doesn't want to move Jenner. With Eichel, he's on a $10M deal and was coming off surgery.

In a vacuum, yes, there's no way Jenner fields more than a 1st and probably a 2nd, or 3rd + B-prospect, based on the type of player he is and how he produces. But he's got term on one of the best deals in the league, where cap space is gold; the market for him would be insane, so a buyer has to both make it worthwhile for Columbus to trade him, and then outbid the other 10-15 teams that want and could afford him. I think that's what takes the market value from 1st and 3rd, and B-prospect to 1st, 2nd, and A-prospect.

For Jiricek, he's our only shot at 1RD in the pipeline, so we'd need another young one coming back, otherwise we keep the high-end prospect who fills a massive need (theoretical trade requests be damned). The reason his price would be so high for a team like Edmonton or Toronto is because they don't have a player like that to send back, so we need additional valuable pieces that we could package to go get that guy, too.
