Description
I think it is safe to say that my team (Montreal) won't finish in the top 5 of the draft, so I am wondering how fans from the other teams want their team to draft.

Celebrini seems to be a consensus #1 pick, but there could be a surprise.

So if Chicago finishes between 1 and 5 I think they would draft a player to go with Bedard up front. Their top 5 choices would be
1. Celebrini
2. Eiserman
3. Demidov
4. Lindstrom
5. Levshunov

I have seen some San Jose fans talk about improving the defence but I think they still go Celebrini first:
1. Celebrini
2. Levshunov
3. Dickinson (if Levshunov is gone)
4. Silayev
5. Demidov/Eiserman

Anaheim could go either way I suppose, but they still have many good young D that are coming up, so maybe the focus is on forwards:
1 ,Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Levshunov
4. Demidov/Eiserman
5. Eiserman/Demidov

5. Columbus is difficult for me to assess, so I really am not sure:
1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Levshunov
4. Dickinson
5. Eiserman

I think the Senators would prioritize defencemen, given their young taented forwards
1. Celebrini
2. Levshunov
3. Parekh (slightly off the board-- but a right shot D)
4. Dickinson
5. Silayev

How far off am I Blackhawks, Sharks, Ducks, Blue Jackets and Senators fans?

(The trades were just put in to have the teams logos show up on the post and attract the attention of the fans of the respective teams).

Maybe, I might just be gun shy about Murray attempting year after year after year to find the missing top 4 RHD and making more and more desperate trades as the years of our last cup window dragged by.

It's a lot easier to find a winger via trade or free agency than a RHD. I'd rather load up there and not have to worry about than live through that again.

Last month I was reading apparently outdated info on Leahunov that noted defensive defincies in his game, he's apparently cleaned that up quite a bit, so I'm back on board.

I think Verbeek would take Nygard over Eiserman though, again, the 200 ft game in eiserman is lacking.

I agree with you fully on Levshunov. Also that Nygard is totally a Verbeek player; but I really hope it’s Lev. I just don’t feel like Nygard has the ceiling worthy of how high our pick will likely be

As a Sharks fan and yes I don’t speak for all of us but my top 5 for the sharks would be.
1, Celebrini LHC
2, Levshunov RD
3, Lindstrom LHC
4, Dickenson LD
5, Parekh RD
Sharks don’t really need LD buck Dickenson is so good and Mukhamadulin has played RD a lot even though he’s a left hand shot so I would consider it.

I will say while I’ve been Celebrini/ Levshunov or bust most of this season for the Sharks I’ve really come to admire Lindstrom, you can’t deny his size, speed, and skill. I really feel his draft plus one year is going to be immense and whoever gets him is going to have the steal of the draft.

I wonder if OTT would consider trading back with MTL (ex: pick #5 for pick #7 for some assets so that MTL might jump over MIN to draft one of the remaining top forward prospect over MN.

AKA if one of Demidov, Eiserman or Lindstrom is still available at 5.

What would be the price?

I would think Ottawa would give serious consideration to passing on Lindstrom or Eiserman for the right package, since they (seem to) want defencemen. If the draft went:
1. Celebrini
2. Levshunov/Demidov
3. Demidov/Levshunov
4. Lindstrom/Eiserman
5. Esierman/Lindstrom (Ottawa's slot)

That leaves Ottawa with one of Dickinson, Parekh, Buium or Silayev to pick from at #7 (after Minnesota picks one of those guys or Helenius or Catton). If Montreal made it known to Ottawa that they would not take a defenceman (so that some of those 4 defencemen are still available to the Senators) and Montreal threw in something like Farrell and Harris to make up the difference between #7 and #5 then that seems reasonable to me. Maybe a combination of Struble?Harris?Farrell and a 2nd round pick???

I doubt CHI drafts a defenseman in the top 5, but Levshunov might be too go to pass on at three or later. Top 6 forwards are a way bigger need for CHI, IMO.
I'd say:
1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Levshunov
4. Lindstrom
5. Eiserman

I also wouldn't be surprised if Lindstrom falls down the rankings a ton, including CHI's personal rankings. Especially if he is slow coming back from injury. Could be a sign that the honeymoon is over and he is coming back down to earth a bit. But if he can pick up where he left off and finish the season strong, I could see him going 2nd overall. Same goes for any of these guys, as far as how they finish their seasons and post seasons.

Levshunov has a great stat line, but when I watch him I don't see a player that excites me very much and has some things to overcome that he won't get away with as a pro. RD depth is an important box to check for CHI, but getting a top of the lineup RD isn't as important, currently, as getting top 6 forwards. This will all change by the draft, though. There is a lot more hockey left to play.
