Description
Boston has quite a few guys I like as targets even if they are likely unavailable. Also most of the fanbase is reasonable, providing well thought out justifications. Have had a number of quality discussions on here with that fanbase.

Looking for insights on availability, price, and just general info on the players listed

Don loves to have extra d man. Been burned by injuries and depth come playoffs multiple times. Don’t see him moving any of them unless it is for cap purposes to bring the in help elsewhere..

Forbort s/b dumped for FC

Grizz should be traded but Donny sees way too much of himself in him and having to run into his dad at the arena after moving him would be awkward. Lol.

Walsh and Zboril are just depth pieces who have little value outside of that.

Ullmark will likely not happen in season.

Rest are not available. Though Boqvist or Geekie could be moved if it was for an upgrade over them. Sway and Freddy are off limits.

I would take Forbort in a heartbeat if available for FC. He’d be a big boost to our PK and I feel like he’d fit well alongside Marino or Miller

I’d be happy to free up the 3m. Wotherspoon has outplayed him.

That’s been my thought process with my Boston offers. Clearing cap space so you can make another move. Earlier in the year they were mostly for forbert, but then I remember being told that Gryz was the more expendable one by Boston fans. Personally I’d take either or even both.

Swayman I feel is pretty untouchable, would have to be a massive overpay.

Frederic same as above, has really blossomed under Monty, most bruins fans have been wanting to see him in a top 6 role to see if production would take an even bigger jump. He’s also just the definition of a bruin, 2 way player who hits hard and is more then willing to fight.

Geekie would be hard to move. Was very shaky the first 16 games but since being moved to the top 9 he’s been very consistent, him and Frederic have worked very well together
5 points in first 16 games
18 points in next 26 games

Forbort I’d take a 3rd for. But I don’t think Sweeney would move him as he is very good on our PK.

Grzelcyk probably a 4th with retention. I see Sweeney using him more as apart of a package for an upgrade though rather then just selling him individually. I really don’t mind grzelcyk but his size always seems to fault us in PO’s when things get more physical. He’s good in all areas, he has a good stick in the dzone, he’s quite creative with his moves/ dekes and has good wheels id say his best quality is his transitional play, his offence would be much better if he had a better shot though.

Boqvist I like, he has speed he has skill he’s been solid both ways but he seem to lack IQ. If he was a smarter player I could see him being a consistent 40 point scorer.

The other 2 id move for low rd picks mostly just AHL depth haven’t got to see them in the NHL yet. Really want to give Walsh a shot but just hasn’t happened yet

You know puck. I wish NJD kept them (and brunette). As you can see from my profile picture I will always be a certified boqvist enjoyer.

swayman and frederic - probably just give up. not happening.
ullmark - don't think there's any shot this year, in the offseason, it's a different story.
Grzelcyk is confusing. he's been awesome in years past, but is clearly struggling at the moment.
Forbort, Geekie, and Boqvist - if you want to overpay in a way that makes this years boston bruins hockey team better, i'm sure there are conversations to be had. I doubt it will make sense for the other side.

Zboril - all yours. could've had him for free.
Walsh - i'm not entirely sure i know who he is.

In general I agree with the BOS fans here about Swayman being neigh-untouchable. But those comments about arbitration were jarring.

Still tend to agree that he'd a pipe dream, but if there /were/ a reason he'd move, I'd point to those comments and the transaction history of players that go to arbitration

Freddy and Sway are probably untouchable, unless your offer absolutely blows them outta the water

Geeks and Ully are unlikely mid szn, Geeks is a 25yo solid middle 6 guy who fits well w other Bruins timelines and playstyles, Ully is a surplus of goaltending, could def see him being moved, but the longer they wait to move him, the lower his value becomes

Everyone else is probably on the table, although as the gentlemen above mentioned, Donny loves extra Dmen. IMO at least one of Griz or Forbort (Forbort) should be moved, Griz works much better w Mac and top pair Dmen always trump replaceable bottom pair Dmen (especially being overpayed 3mill)

I acc like Boqvist, u can tell the speed and talent is there and hes definitely an NHL player, BOS doesnt currently have 12 forwards better than him so Id be dissapointed to see him sent down again

that's every arbitration ever. there's nothing jarring about it. if the two sides go to arbitration, one side has the job of making the player look great, and the other has the job of making the player look bad. It's so commonplace. every single person that goes to arbitration gets carved.

I think you’ll get different opinions from different fans. I prefer Grz to Forbort personally, but I think Forbort has outplayed Grz.

You may hav e to pick up a few defenseman, but I think there are guys at the AHL level who can play in this league. I’m actually wondering if Regula or Callahan are going to get their shot.

And half that reach arbitration hearing are gone within a year, 80% gone within two years.

You are right, its normal.

But its also normal to see that player on another team in year or two.

Sway feels different though. Part of it is the fact that he's our future in net for the better part of the next decade and he just jives so well with Bruins culture, kinda reminds me of Tim Thomas with how he's always getting chirpy in scrums

Most indications are they are discussing an extension. Hes the one guy who Friedman keeps on mentioning as a likely extension candidate. When his agent went on their podcast, it didn’t sound like there was an issue. I’m expecting an extension before next season

Could also be damage control. He said what he said, but when he said it (right after January 1st) is reason it’s worth talking about. Friedman said extension was likely on first day…but that day came and went.

And given the history of how these things rarely work out…despite fanbases believing otherwise…combined with higher likelihood of goalies getting traded in RFA year…it doesn’t look good from outside. But you all would know better than I would how Bs are handling.

Friedman’s sources with regards to Boston stuff have always seem more agent based than team. Boston appears pretty locked down with regards to team sources

you're definitely going to run into guys that don't know who some of these bizarre nicknames are. There some that are universal. Everyone knows who pastrnak is. Most would probably figure out who, "ully," is after a second or two of thinking about it. on a forum where all sorts of fanbases are interacting, why go through the show of making someone try to think of who "geeks," is? Especially when the only real reason to do it is to try to sound like you're in the stall next to the guy. you're not friends! it might not be fair to do so, but i'm assuming you're gen z, and i just don't understand the allergy to just spelling things like a normal human so everyone can understand.

Assuming gen z and assuming trying to sound like friends with the players are spectacular assumptions, but because you have difficulty understanding, I'll spell it out for you:

The person who made this ACGM asked for insights and info on the players listed. As a BOS fan providing those thoughts and insights, my comments were specifically targeted towards the person who asked for them and nobody else . Of course other people are more than welcome to read them, but theres not much caring in terms of helping other people/fanbases understand nicknames of players on a specific team, especially when I know the person who posted this ACGM can decipher who the nicknames refer to (its also very simple to figure out in general)

why not just use their names? people other than the original creator of the ACGM read it.
