Someone will have an injury and decide they will give up a 2nd/3rd for him is my best guess. I realize it likely isn't Colorado I just picked someone.

Pick who we want to keep between Fabbro and Carrier and trade the other. I think Fabbro fetches more. A late 1st if we take salary coming back,

Take a shot on Kuzmenko. I think the Canucks would be happy to get him off for free at the deadline so they can go acquire a piece.

We are overloaded on RD and Ceci sucks. Trade Carrier and Barrie for picks and keep Fabbro without taking any RD back.

I think the price on Lankinen is a bit steep. Maybe a 3rd/4th

Yeah it almost certainly won't be Colorado for Barrie.

We aren't overloaded on RD if we trade one of Carrier/Fabbro. Not sure what you mean. Gotta take salary back for a year to make it work (I fogrot Ceci had another year though so maybe someone else).

In this hot goalie market Lanks is for sure worth a 2nd.

Did you not work out that I was agreeing with it? But then it was kind of silly to put probably one of the least likely teams for him to go to as well.

Moving Barrie and Fabbro while taking back Ceci we'd still be left with 4RD

Who are you counting??? We would just have Carrier and Schenn. Then Ceci if it was him coming back would be the 3rd. Josi/McD/Lauzon/Stastney all left handed.

I should have specified position rather than handedness, but I was accounting for you having Josi on the offhand here

Offer Saros for Necas to the Canes and see what happens. Seems like better asset management than getting a late second magic beans.

I wish Colorado was a fit. Barrie is one of the most popular guys in the league and great in the locker room. People talk about how great guys like Maroon are in the locker room, but never about someone who profiles like Barrie. Miss the dude.

I think you're right about Vancouver wanting to get off the $5.5M they're paying Kuzmenko, but it won't be for free. I think that he would fetch a 2nd rounder from a team who needs scoring, or be matched with a struggling defenseman that the Canucks could use for depth. That said, i'd trade Kuzy and a 4th rounder to Nashville for Thomas Novak.

Value-wise, everything here seems pretty fair(except the Nucks and Canes trades, but I get the premises). Looks solid IMO.

Would o'reilly be available for the right price? Jets need a 2c and o'reilly does that with the experience and defense he brings would be amazing

Am I missing something here? I thought Tocchet hated him? That's really the only basis for the trade. The fact that yall REALLY want to free up that cap space for (a) someone thats a better fit in Toch's system and (b) so you have room to pay EP next year. We have 3 4th rounders this year so maybe we give one of those? I thought this was doing VAN a favor but if not then the Preds don't really need him.

Highly doubt it honestly. He was brought in to be the new leader in the forward group to all the young guys.

Yeah absolute no-go on this one man. Novak has .58 point per game while making $800k and Kuzmenko is .51 ppg while making $5.5M. Preds have a 54% expected goals % while Novak is on the ice, the highest of all of our forwards and 2nd highest on the team. Kuzmenko has the highest offensive zone shift start % on your team and plays on the 3rd line? He is one of your most sheltered forwards. If you don't understand how important production relative to cap hit is then you need to look at what Hagel fetched at the deadline a couple years ago.
