I don't mind the trade but having Reaves and his cap doesn't hurt the Leafs. You can be sure when the Leafs lose a playoff game, the same people that say, "Trade Reaves" will saying "Wish we had a tough guy like Reaves."

Reaves wouldn't report to the Marlies, just like when the Leafs waived Simmonds to the minors he stayed home and didn't play any games in the Ahl or ECHL.

Reaves would than get suspended by the Leafs and maybe that'll lead to a termination of the contract. Here's to hoping.

No one cared that Simmonds stayed home rather than report to the minors, as he was in the final year of his contract and the team respected him. Reaves is a different story.

Reaves is must know the Leafs would trade him if there were any takers as who want a disgruntled veteran player in the organization.
But Reaves does have another choice. Maybe he can't do it till June, but he could ask the Leafs to free him from contract, become a UFA and try to make another deal for himself.
The other is....just play better when you're on the ice.
