It's roughly the same cost as OTT paid for DeBrincat, who has a better resume. The 1st won't be as high but Zegras doesn't have multiple 40 goal seasons like DeBrincat.

Nor is he due a big raise right now, or is refusing to sign with the team, and unlike Debrincat, we're not shopping him.

Zegras only gets used to bring in a blue chip piece, or he doesn't move.

Not enough for Trevor Zegras. Now if you were giving us Holtz (whom you don't own, of course), Tomasino or Kemell and your 2024 first, that would make sense for Anaheim.

Otherwise, we'll just struggle with Trevor for the next five or more seasons.

TOR doesn't have the cap space to take on any salary without sending some out, and neither of those prospects they're sending NSH has much NHL upside.

It’s also not just about ‘value’. ANA’s needs are top 6 wing and #1RD. Those picks are highly unlikely to address any of those needs, and moving Z opens another top 6 hole. Value needs to be well placed, and this value isn’t at all. Even if the picks panned out, they won’t be NHL relevant until 2027 at best. ANA isn’t trying to tank for 3 more years
