Rangers will think about it. Problem with Rico is half retained may still too much to take on
If they could somehow take Goodrow, and he agrees to waive, they could do it for a first rder w/ no conditions

Then Ducks could buy him out if they wanted. We could do that too, but we need Goodrow off the books now

Vitek/1st for Gibson (at $5m) -- That looks about right.

Miller > Lyubushkin -- that does not

Casey for what?

3rd for what?

Ducks would have to send another piece back...

Pens decline.

With all due respect, even with 50% retention, Silvferberg isn't worth a 3rd. He's just not a very good player. He doesn't really excel in any one aspect of the game. Even with 50% of his cap-hit vs. what he actually brings, I really wouldn't want him even for future considerations. I'd rather call someone up than have his cap-hit taking up space.

To me he's a $1M - $1.5M player.

Ignore the cap hit and focus on the actual money of a Goodrow buyout. It's nearly 8M dollars over the span of 6 years. The price for the Ducks to do that would start at a 1st round pick and might even go higher than that.

Revenue in New York is a lot different than revenue in Anaheim.

He's a European league player at this stage of his career. The Ducks won't bother trading him so he can retire from the NHL as a Duck and then go back home to Sweden next year. I'll be sad to see him go, not many guys left from the Ducks roster that was wining the Pacific division title year after year prior to 2017-18.

Casey/1st for Gibson, Miller for Boosh, Vitek for free bc he's worth nothing (AKA cap needs to go back)

Too much for Gibson.

And not sure why would be giving a rental dman if we are buying.

I agree with you. Dumping him would cost alot. Just saying for us to get rico I’m not sure they could do it just half retained, they probably need to dump salary also, or get a 3rd team. Rico seems like a long shot to the NYR

Take out the rental defenders and the deal is reasonable. Anaheim has no incentive to move Gibson unless the return is good -- he's actually having a good season and if the offer isn't appealing, we can just keep him.

The incentive to move Gibson is to move him while his value is at its peak and before his contract becomes an albatross again

14th overall pick
leading NCAA dman
veteran dman

....NJD can be picky with that ask.

Ducks don't even need young dmen anyway.
