Blackwell is definitely making a good case for gaining some TDL interest.

I don't hate that Campbell dump. If CHI does want to bring back Dicky and Mrazek, they can still do it in free agency. And I think if EDM is gonna pull the trigger on dumping him, they are gonna need some decent roster players in return. For the purpose of bringing in a couple decent prospects, and a 1st, I could see KD helping bolster their depth with rentals a bit. It still feels like CHI should be getting more value out of it, but I'm just saying if he did do something like this, I'm gonna get pissed about it.

Value seems fair, if not a little in EDM favor with the length of Campbells contract. I'm just not sure the Oilers are ready to give up that much to get ride of Jack Campbell. I think they would rather just wait and hope he catches fire and gets his game back. No nearly the same, but Bobroski wasn't the starting goalie for FLA last year at the start of playoffs. I feel like if they were going to move him they would have already.

I would want that first in this draft and not 3 out from now. The orginal proposal seems slightly in favor of the Hawks. Dickinson retained is in the 2nd zip code and Mrazaek a 3rd (even the best of goalies don't get all that much at the TDL). To me, Campbell is a couple of first and Holloway may be far enough away from the draft that he doesn't hold the value of his draft position anymore, but Akey was a 2nd this past draft and had some hype before getting hurt.

Holloway doesn’t need a change of scenery. He only needs better injury luck to become a full time NHLer. He’s coming back from injury soon and the Oilers will see it through with this prospect. Who looked good before his most recent injury.

Akey looked great in Camp. He won’t be moved. Oilers and the fanbase are extremely high on this prospect. A bit of a steal in the 2nd round for us.

It’s a decent offer for a Campbell though I will admit. The pieces coming back can help. I assume Dickinson can be a decent 3C. Mrazek is an okay option as a backup to Skinner.

Considering that Campbells buy out cost is very easy to take on. I can’t see the Oilers doing this. They can save all those futures and still get rid of Campbell in the offseason and free up plenty of cap space (3Mish saved in the first 3 years).

If we could swap those prospects with some other prospects there could be something here. Maybe Bourgault (former 1st round pick) instead of Akey. Maybe Broberg who actually needs a change of scenery instead of Holloway who’s pretty much already on the Oilers active roster.

You are absolutely right in this.

The only way I see the oiler paying to move campbell is if they have a move that is bringing a significant piece to EDM top 6 FWD top 4 Dman or starting goalie. I do not see them paying it to bring in a 3C or back up goalie you can find comparable players making league min and buy out campbell in the summer.

Sounds like both fan bases are in agreement. This trade proposal is a no go.
