Maybe the OP should look at who is on the Canes LHD, and why the Canes aren’t going to consider that. Besides, if the Canes had wanted, they could (and would) have a made a run a Chychrun when he was still a member of the Coyotes.

Skjei is a free agent and Orlov has 1 year left and they’re both much older

Chychrun has the same amount of term as Orlov, if the Canes are interested they can sign him in Free Agency. I think they will stick with the D core that they have. Not to mention it would be silly to pay a first for the luxury of having one of your $5M+ LHD sitting in the box this year.

I like chychrun but he doesn’t have control. So its hard to give a first in the deal without the re-signing condition (which isn’t allowed).

I like chychrun for us because he matches our system and would be young enough for us to extend.
