Kuemper is one of the few starting goalies performing about as poorly as Vanecek this season.
There's no way the Devils would get an older and more expensive goalie when he's been performing just as bad as the one they already have.
If anything there should be a huge amount of sweeteners going towards the Devils in a Kuemper - Vanecek swap.

Elvis is miles better than vitek. So is tarasov, Martin, and greaves. Find somewhere else to dump vanecek

Not saying Vanecek is having anything other than a terrible season but his 22-23 performance bests any season Merzlikins has put together. Oh well.

I suspect some of the rejection here comes from the fact this trade is our third best prospect for a goalie who might be a lateral move at the best. It’s a big opportunity cost trade for rebuilding Columbus, and a pointless one at that.
