The difference between tavares and lindholm is way way way more than tanevs breaking down body

Lindholm and Tanev are worth more than Tavares. I get the pending UFA is a concern but Lindholm is better and younger & no one wants Tavares at $11M. I love Tavares, but straight up I’m taking Lindholm in a heartbeat for him

if lindholm and tanev were having the exact same seasons in toronto they're having in calgary right now you'd be trying to trade them for a pair of thirds. They are not even close to worth as much as tavares is, especially as 30+ year old pending ufas who need massive extensions to retain

Not a chance. Lindholm is a MUCH more reliable 2way centre. Tavares is good offensively, sure. But other than faceoffs he’s a liability in his own end. I’ll take Lindholm at 60-70 points and a strong Selke candidate over Tavares and his 80 points and defensive liability every day of the week.

lindholm hasnt been that guy since gaudreau and tkachuk left, he's a coat tail rider and isnt half that good defensivly. He cant run a line like tavares and he's been a liability in his own zone all season. And he's also not putting up anything close to 70 points on the leafs 2nd line

Jarry is currently ranked 4th in WAR for goalies. Samsanov is 55th
He is having a bad year and a 1st isn't enough to trade a better goalie for him. Though I do think he has a lot of potential once he leaves Tor.

Just a 5th is not incentive enough for SJ to do this trade. They have no need for Reeves
