Trevor Zegras should not be a target for Montreal. He is not worth what everyone think (Slafkovsky+Reinbacher). This guy does a couple Michigans and people think he is good. He can't play defensively.

Montreal clearly need another top 6 forward and I have three options that they could get via UFA or draft.

1. William Nylander is a player that every team want. He can do anything. He is free agent at the end of the year and Montreal will have a lot of cap space. It would be interressant to see him in the same line as Dach and Slafkovsky.

2. Tyler Toffoli, a player that everyone liked when he played for us. Although he is old, he continues to perform. He likes Montreal so it will not be surprising to see him sign at Montreal this summer.

3. Cayden Lindstrom is a top prospect that will be draft between 2-10. He is a big guy and Montreal need someone taller because they already have some smaller player.

If Montreal can't sign or draft any of these three players, I would like to give a chance to Joshua Roy. He has been amazing since the start of the season in the AHL.

Newhook was good too before he got injured but I think he is not a guy that fit in a line with two really talented players like Dach and Slafkovsky.

I would love to see Montreal move for a good prospect. I made a list and I think every player is worth the same; a veteran, a 2e round pick and a tier 3-4 prospect.

My favourite player from this list is Mavrik Bourque. He is from Québec and he has his breakout season in the AHL this year. I would love to see him in Montreal.

Leafs-Canadiens is a big rivalry in the NHL but they could help each other. In a context where Nylander and Domi doesn't resign with Toronto, they would have a lot of cap space.
Leafs need more physicality and Anderson, Savard and Pezzetta are players like that.
Draft 2024 is the last year of rebuild for Montreal and a late 1e round and Minten is good for Montreal but only in three years.

These two guy are Montreal best prospect at the blue line. For 2023-24, I want them in the AHL and dominate. Matheson will probably trade at the TDL 2025 and Hutson could come in the NHL.

I think Primeau is not the guy in Montreal. Askarov would be the perfect fit. Preds are not ready to trade Saros and they would be mind open to trade Askarov said Pierre Lebrun. He hasn't prove anything in the NHL so his value is not that high. Levi and Knight are also good goalies but they would cost way more.

Savard is worth a second at best.

Anderson and his massive anchor contract are worth a third at best despite the goal tonight.

Pezzetta is worth a fourth at best.

How you get that package to be worth Minten and a current first is utterly beyond me.

Guy, Anderson has 5 goals in 5 games. That basically means if he wasn't so "snake bitten" he would be on a pace for 82 goals this season. I'm surprised they don't have Matthews in that deal since he isn't as good as Anderson, obviously.
