Henrique isn’t the answer if the price is a 1st and RyJo doesn’t have negative value. Colton is a significantly better option at 3C than Dickinson.

It's a pick swap with the value around a 2nd IIRC, which is what we're asking for for a retained Henrique. You should be able to get value from Ryjo somewhere though and not add him to the trade.

I don't know how RyJos skating ability compares to Henrique. Rico is not slow by any means but I wouldn't call him a speedster either.

I'm curious what attributes Colorado needs in a 2C? Speed? Playmaking? Finishing? Defense or offense oriented?

Ideally all of the above

If you think back to the role that Kadri (and Compher last year) played on the Avs:
- Not a speedster but certainly fast enough to keep up
- Offensive upside but not necessarily a PPG player
- Ability to take tough defensive minutes so the MacKinnon line can eat
- Faceoff skill for special teams

That's probably fair value for Dickinson without any retention. But some team probably gives the Hawks a 2nd for him with the retention.

I think Dickinson will be a sneaky good add for whatever playoff team acquires him.

Rico isn’t a good skater and injuries have definitely slowed him down. He is better defensively than RyJo for sure but what COL desperately needs is a 2C to drive some even strength offense which means playing in transition which means skating and keeping up. I had high hopes for RyJo he has been a distributor most of his career and I thought he could succeed setting guys up, but more often than not he is the last forward up in transition meaning he isn’t setting people up he is getting some goals but they just aren’t good when he is on the ice sans Mack or Mikko.
