Not out landish, Minny doesn't really lose anything. get a 5th and Abruzzese for a 135K increase for 2 yrs and 1.3mil on the 3rd Merill doesn't have.

Might do the trade but there is no way Merrill takes Giordano spot. Merril would have trouble being the Leafs seventh Dman.

I'm not familiar with the first 2 players, but they're old enough that they're probably what they're going to be (fringe NHLers) so it basically looks like picking up a 5th to swap Merrill for Reaves who has an extra year. I don't hate it, but I don't like it either so it's probably fine. That's the sign of a good realistic ACGM I guess?

But I'd rather keep Maroon and sign him to an extention over bringing Reavo back. He's not as tough, but he can still play hockey and isn't a liability out there.

Furthermore, for as much as fans want Merrill gone. I'm keeping him over Reavo. Why? Merrill's gonzo after the season, he's an UFA. While Reavo still has that stupidly expensive contract for the next 3 years.

Do you really want to pay for that? Fans **** and moan about the extentions to Foligno, Hartman, and Zuccarello enough as it is. So... hard no.
