Seems like a poor idea to commit to 28 year old Graves for 5,5 years. What's the point, replacing Giordano? Certainly Graves won't be moving the needle.,

Not sure that Pittsburgh's gonna want to move him 2 months into a 6 year deal - not to mention you're asking them to tie up one of their retention slots for that long as well. I think those two points alone make it too cost-prohibitive for the kind of value Graves would bring to the Leafs. Feels like you'd be able to get 75-80% of the juice Graves would bring out of a guy like Marco Scandella or Nick Seeler at a fraction of the cost.

He hasn't had a strong start to the year and I can't see why the penguins would want to move him given 1. they don't have anyone waiting in the wings that can take over 2. if they wanted to add someone like Hanifin it'd cost them a lot which Dubas has basically said he doesn't want to spend future assets.

So I just don't see it. Unless they sell at the deadline, but even then I don't think they'd be willing to retain on Graves. (Jake and Pettersson would be the retention candidates and Petry makes 3)

Big body that can skate and play defence...

Keefe could do wonders with a guy like him IMO... He's revived a bunch of players before and Dubas seems to have a scoop that others don't know about...

Unpopular opinion, but I've always been bigger on him then others

It's to give Gio a break and he would be a solid player, thinking come playoffs they could run 11/7 depending on the matchup and it gives Keefe options...
