Beecher was outcompeted on 2 goals yesterday. Poitras has performed admirably this year but he is still far from being a dependable defensive player. Points are too precious even at this point in the season.

Geekie is a more reliable C than Merkulov. If Merk gets the call-up, it will be on the wing where he'll have less responsibilities.
