Isles would pass, I think. The 3rd rounder three drafts away feels like value for retaining $2M over 2 years but Petrov is a non-prospect. Palmieri has been a steady 45ish point middle-6 winger over the past few years so I would think that he'd have a little more value than that. Throw in the fact that he has an NTC, he's from Long Island, and he had a kid not that long ago and I think it's very likely he finishes out his term on the Island.

Podz has higher upside, if a 22y/o is asking for a trade that must mean something is wrong with the org

EDM fans, y’all have to stop the Blackwood trades.

Some of the adv. analytics show how amazing he’s been (like #1 in games stolen, #2 in quality starts etc etc). But anyone who’s watched the Sharks games knows why y’all/ SJS want him. He’s been amazing.

Dumping Campbell simply costs over a 1st, and a 2nd. You aren’t getting Blackwood back unless you’re inclusion of Xavier and Petrov or Akey. And even then I’m personally not trading Blackwood for Xavier and Petrov. He’s worth more. It’s simply costing EDM to much - you’re going to have target a worse goalie or take a swing with Kaapo (like VGK did with Hill)(and Kaapos also looked really good).

To even start conversations with Kaapo, Reimer, Primeau your offer needs to be increased. Blackwood has been phenomenal, he’s not just being tossed in the deal. He’s the centrepiece and best goalie that’s realistically possible to trade for who’s not named Saros.

I have no problem trading Blackwood but I dont want AHL cap dump Campbell and some over ripe prospects. blackwood, since Edm is desperate is going to cost. If you want to dump campbell then its a 2024 1st and 2nd at a minimum plus an asset for Blackwood

I accidentally deleted my comment before sending so I had a lot more of a well rounded of a reply so sorry; just going to finish my last point that I was typing.

What asset do we get that at all matters from EDM for Blackwood?

2024/2025 Sharks Top Prospect handful, are set and likely won’t change (no order):

2024-1st
2024-1st
Bystedt
Bordeleau
Gushchin
Cagoni
Lund
Will smith
Furlong
Shakir
Musty
— knocking on the door of this deep pool for the top 10
Havelids, Laroque, Gawanke, Haulttenen, Fisher
Now we add here either Akey, Petrov, or Xavier… do you see my point? So we’re easily asking for another first (two firsts in the deal minimum and I value Blackwood more then a first, as I have faith in how good Blackwood is, so that EDM first in 2025 will be 25-32). So I am asking for a conditional first plus a prospect of value.

And this isn’t even considering NJD conditional first, or our 2nd round select/ aka late first into our pool.

The deal is just going to be to expensive for SJS to get proper value to lose Blackwood - there is no downside to keeping Blackwood compared to the risk of accepting a subpar offer (like a 2nd-ish in value).

SJS has no goalie in the pipes that looks to be able to dethrone Blackwood if he does carry his play.
If he keeps this play through till 2025 at a somewhat reasonable level (‘not stopping 50 shots a night lol) - we easily get rinsed. Example:

Campbell
2024 heavily protected first
2025 heavily protected first
One of EDM top prospects (not Lavoie imo)
2nd

Is what I’m using to begin the conversation - and that’s incredibly high and something that ends the convo with EDM rather quickly I’d guess.

It’s far more likely the conversation steers towards Kaapo and then prices drop exponentially for EDM.

I dislike pretty much every aspect of this. I'll try to keep it brief:

You gut your future & pay assets to move Ceci despite him playing quite damn well this year despite the chaos all around him in order to weaken the defense and pin your hopes on a goalie who was trending towards being on his way out of the league just last season and to upgrade the forward group. Meanwhile, your chosen D targets don't even address the key reason for why you should want to move Ceci in the first place (to create a more mobile D corps) as neither Benning nor Scandella are strong skaters. All-in-all, I don't like whatever your vision is.
