Why? Because it hurts the Leafs? Or you hope he becomes FA so he can go the the sens? Just loads of desire and no rationality

I think he was at 9.5 before his crazy start to this year but he’s def played himself into a higher AAV than that. I def think a team with no taxes easily gives him anything up to 10 mill which means a team in Canada would need to give him closer to 11 . He held out last time for more money and he knows the cap is gonna jump a ridiculous amount, I don’t think he signs anything where he’s not fleecing

My question is how can you pay Marner 1.5 million more than Nylander and how can you give him a extra year on that contract?

Nylander is going to get 11 million somewhere? Marner should at best be a similar deal.

He was asking for "as high as 10" and has stated many times that he wants to stay in TO. Asking for more after his start would price him out and no one is paying a guy with 1 ppg season under his belt 11 million. You know this, and likely will be among the many that will call him overrated as soon as he resigns in TO. He may get 10 but likely they are negotiating the final parts of the deal where Willy will be pushing for as close to 10 as possible.

lol who said I’m trolling? Tavares will get a short term deal similar to Giroux. And Nylander will get a longterm contract with a good AAV in the middle of a cap jump

My bad - the authority has spoken. But as a SENs fan - I’d think you’d have the self awareness to 🤐. I mean SENs were and still are the worst managed team in the league so taking advice from you guys seems counterintuitive

With this year, it should be two years above PPG and one roughly PPG, it only helps his cause that they are 3 consecutive years and so far with each year being greater than the next. Tkachuk had three points off PPG in his 3rd season and got a one season above PPG that was a 104 pt season, he got 9.5M. Nylander is a pending ufa, so he definitely could get 11M, if he raises his ask (which he may or may not) or he can get it in FA as well. Nylander wants to stay in Toronto but he doesn't want to be underpaid either compared to the other superstars. Nylander could easily push for above 10Mx8 because that's only 80M, he probably could get 11Mx7 in FA. Maybe you meant to say that Nylander would push for as close to 11 as possible as in his original "high 10s ask"?

I don’t post ridiculous nonsensical fantasy teams about the SENs because:
1/ I don’t care about the SENs enough to do so
2/ I don’t have to needlessly go out of my to troll SENs fans 🤷🏻 The league standings are more than enough

But you keep doing you #rentfree

Marner is already basically making 11M, I doubt he takes the same but if he's not too selfish then maybe he just takes 11.5-12M, maybe something like 11.75M.

I don't think Csick is trying to troll. He's posted many ACGMs of different teams. What he proposed here isn't ideal but it could definitely be possible in terms of the asks of Nylander and Marner, but I don't imagine that Marner would stay a Leaf if he wants 12.5M especially if Nylander is getting paid 11M. Although, the entire ACGM doesn't work together imo.

He could decide to take less if what it takes to keep Nylander is 11M, assuming he wants the group to stick around. If not Marner then Tavares would need to take a major paycut, but even at 11.5Mx8, that would put Marner's career earnings at ~160M. At the end, something has to give (maybe no Hanifin) because there's no way the Leafs run that defense. By the time, they get a decent group on the dcore, Matthews will require a pay raise, and he's going to take as much as he can for that final contract. They will also struggle to re-sign their RFAs if they require any significant raises in that time.

Nylander deserves a massive raise b/c of his play to start the year - he’s been excellent. Marner deserves a significant raise b/c his play has not been excellent to start the year? Nonsense.
Samsonov either returns to form - true #1 - in which case he demands far more or Leafs let him walk. Nonsense
JT will sign for less - he is already 33 and he recognizes he’s made his money and he needs to sign team friendly deal. Fantasy
Hanafin is a FA this year; I don’t see how the Leafs sign him (& Samsonov) to that deal this summer and fit under cap. Fantasy
Niemela is in top 4 but a barely above league min contract? Fantasy

Tkachuk got to ppg a lot faster than Nylander did. It was his 3rd season which he was PPG. Willy's been in the league longer and is older. Your comparison is woefully wrong.

Maybe he’s trolling, maybe not. But if you’re going to post about rival teams (weird, but to each his own) - you better be prepared for feedback. Especially if it’s nonsensical and poorly constructed with the only goal - it would seem- to place the leafs in a tough spot cap wise

Sign Nylander worry about Marner later. Nylander can't hold out for Marner numbers like Marner did on Matthews numbers because the contract is a year apart. Gotta love the Nylander Bell TTC commercials. In what other city does astar ride the TTC and get paid for it.

The thing is Nylander will sign his deal at 87.5 mill cap. Marner will sign his deal at like 90-92 mill cap. Their previous deals were signed at like 78-80 mill cap

Yeah, but look at Tkachuk's years between the 3rd and his above-PPG year. They are different situations but Nylander is more so deserving as he literally showed progressive rises each year, and what his best years are in his most recent years, plus you're paying for ufa years only.
