They have the talent and the players. Not like you’d really expect them to blow everyone away but you’d expect more from Gaudreau and Laine but what is even happening with them? Is it coaching? Is it the players? What’s the likely outcome?

Their forward group is incredibly thin, goaltending is poor as usual, and the defense is deep on paper but they still have Gudbranson in the lineup for some reason so...

Not really. The depth is the only part of the team that’s functioning right now. The fourth line of Kuraly, Danforth, Texier especially. Even Gudbranson has been actually good. It’s the highly paid top-end players who aren’t. Laine gets a pass because his brain got jellied by that hit, but Johnny, Werenski, Severson? Those guys have been horrible and the power play is the worst in the league.

Yeah, everyone criticizing Laine without acknowledging he's just coming back from a flying elbow to the head which might be part of the reason for his struggles are grade A clowns 🤡 imo.

I think coaching is a big part of it, they really need to healthy scratch their AHL level head coach.

I definitely don't follow the Jackets close enough to really say much, Im just parroting what Jeff and Elliott said earlier.
