Nashville passes. Just got away from Granlund's contract last year. Want no part of it.

    No they dont

If they cant get Tanev there are better options

Rutta is a third pair guy and we dont need that. Duclair is okay but we dont need more 1-way forwards.

Treliving isn't going to spend to move Klingberg. Which likely means he's not going to move. It's his first big addition, it would be a total embarrassment to trade a 1st to reverse that. He'll just own it and likely keep him.

Nah Klingberg will be gone at the TDL. GM's are not afraid to admit when they sign someone it doesnt work out and move on

Dubas did that with Ritchie 2.5m x 2 years gone in January not even a year in. Klingberg has not worked out here. 4.15m is better spent elsewhere and not on a third pair sheltered guy.

As the realistic only way for Toronto to make themselves better is moving out of Klingberg's money. And it would not be a bad thing. Just it wont be with SJS. Most likely it will be a trade with CGY involving their UFA's

The other way is move on from Willy and nobody wants that

No reason for Columbus to buy Hoffman given how quickly we're approaching the Sharks in the standings, but it's very kind of you to gift us the 1st, 12th and 32nd overall selections.

Also very bold in assuming Toronto wins the Cup!

Dubas and Treliving are very different GM's. Dubas wouldn't have signed Klingberg in the first place.

Treliving is Shanahan's mouth piece and it's clear Shanahan has an ego problem. I doubt they will move Klingberg unless it's a painless move but I don't think it will be. He sucks

    This is just silly

Shanahan wont stop Treeliving from moving Klingberg. As if there are moves to make the team better he will approve why should they care. Hes seen this before from guys like Ritchie. Shanahan's contract is coming up so of course hes gonna approve deals to make the team better and rn the only guy that can be moved to do that is Klingberg as 4.15m can be better used elsewhere.

In general whole Shanahan thing was so overblown after the Dubas departure, Sportsnet and TSN analysts said it best. Its a president's job to ensure GM dont make certain moves that can be bad for the team. No GM will ever get the amount of autonomy Dubas wanted from their president thats not how things work lul.

Either way Shanahan and Treeliving wont care about moving Klingberg if it means bringing in an upgrade or two. Leafs are not in the business of holding onto picks. They trying to compete so they got to spend

Besides if we look at past examples many teams dumped guys and upgraded

CBJ with Gavrikov + Korpisalo for Quick and some picks

I'm fine w/ whatever MG does, after getting rid of EK65, just don't trade Hertl. I might keep Hoff and pay him next year for a year or 2, to make the floor. BTW, I watched the Cuda 2nite, Muk has top 4 potential, needs a little more weight to his frame, and Ozzy has potential as a 4 RW.

It's been widely reported that Shanahan blocked and forced many moves for Dubas, and then fired Dubas when he asked for autonomy. You think he does that and then let's his new hire have autonomy? That's just silly
