I think I remember seeing one Preds fan on here having some interest in Rakell. For me, his contract is a huge risk I don't think NSH needs. It'd be one thing if NSH was in the position PIT went into the season in: looking to go for it for the next season or two, then expecting to be terrible for awhile after that. I think the Preds are in the opposite of that situation. Likely going to be bottom feeders for the next couple years, and then ideally getting back to being a contender after that.

Pre-injury, the general consensus on Novak was a 1st (presumably a late one, as he'd be going to a strong contender). Probably a wait and see situation now, based on how well he plays after a 4-6 week layoff.
