We'll see how things go leading up to the trade deadline. If CHI doesn't need the retention slot, maybe. But, right now, a 3rd doesn't feel like enough for burning that retention slot AND sending a player that is playing pretty well for us, on a rental deal.

None of those defensemen come anywhere close to the impact of Pettersson. That's awful LHD depth and no RHD that I would want on a top PK unit. The blue line is completely unbalanced.
The returns for Rakell and Pettersson are both awful. Raks hasn't been scoring well yet, but he's been pretty positive defensively and it's only a matter of time before he finds his mojo. Pettersson is our best defensive defenseman and IMO a better fit for the top pairing workload than Graves.
Bertuzzi will probably get better offers. He's another case like Rakell where it looks to me like you're looking at a single rough stretch for them and deciding that it tanks their value massively.

This guy is out of his mind. There's zero chance we move Pettersson, let alone for a pittance like that.
