Lindholm is not a rental in this scenario, he signs an extension. Also, with the players they have coming up Mitts and Krebs could be expendable. By adding Lindholm that likely bumps Cozens to the wing, maybe Thompson but he didn't start playing like he did until he was playing centre.

Lindholm isn't needed and why would they give him a max extension at 29? Would much rather give Casey a big contract since he seems to just keep getting better. Sabres already have 3 top 6 centers, they don't need to add another, especially if they are paying this big of a price tag.

1- you’re asking too much for him

2- the Sabres aren’t looking to bring in a $10mil + player

3- especially not at a position where we are already loaded
