Description
A few takeaways:

1. Leafs have no intention of moving Brodie. They view Rielly/Brodie as a lock, apparently Rielly wasn't too happy with them being broken up last year as well.
2. Garland has horribly negative value but nobody will touch him. Apparently the Canucks offered a high pick, Garland (with retained salary) to Chicago who declined. They didn't want someone who isn't part of their plans for the Bedard Playoffs team in future years stuck on their team. Was told he likely gets moved for another ill fitting player on a bad contract (example giving was Gudbransson).
3. Myers has positive value despite his bad play with the Canucks. Many GMs think that Vancouver's system + playing him 20+ mins a night are the reason he is so poor and GMs feel at 15m a night he could be a solid 3RD.
4. Leafs internally have Klingberg as their #1. They feel that Rielly/Brodie is a solid 2nd pair and that some combination of McCabe/Gio/Lili/Timmins can make a solid third pair. The #1 goal is to bring in a partner for Klingberg who can help elevate his game back to where it was 2-3 years ago when he was a #1.
5. Leafs don't like Domi as a C. They don't think he plays defensively as a C in the way they want and this is why they rather call up Holmberg.
6. Leafs don't feel they need help upfront. They are confident that they have many players on the Marlies who can fill in the bottom 6, this could change but right now they aren't trying to acquire any bottom 6 guys.
7. Secondary concern after a partner for Klingberg is to acquire a big D to replace Lili at 3RD if he doesn't progress as expected. Leafs really wanted Desharnais over the summer from Edmonton.

Détails additionnels:
Would be a risk for Toronto but Samberg profiles similarly to how Oleksiak did when he played with Klingberg and that was a great D pairing.

Deal makes loads of sense for Winnepeg who are currently playing Samberg on his off side as a 3RD.

On the Garland one, I actually believe he has negative value. Just don’t see a player making 5M for the 3 next years and playing like he is having positive value.

WPG needs to get ride of some LD, but Samberg is not of of them. The list goes Stanley, Schmidt and, to a much lesser extent (if they're not making the playoffs), Dillon.

From someone who works for the Flyers FO.

I'd mention that Friedman and Chris Johnston have both reported that Vancouver couldn't dump him with 30% retention.

The term is the real issue for teams. He's a player who has more than 20 goals once in his career and more than 50 points just once. $5M for 3 years is a big commitment.

Also I think (personal speculation) that there are real attitude issues. I don't think someone who publicly lol push for a trade, especially given the situation in Vancouver after Bruce/Horvat last year, isn't the type of locker room guy most teams want.

Agreed they should keep Samberg but it seems they don't value him as highly as others (Stanley specifically).

Also they are more likely to get a fair trade for him than for the others.

I personally would make that trade if I was Toronto but I'm guessing the front office doesn't feel the same way.

I am very high on Woll.
Also him on Dostal if he can be squeezed out of Anaheim.

Contrary to what the voices in your head say, Samberg is not available and this deal makes zero sense for WPG

Revealed preference suggests otherwise. Stanley has been a healthy scratch for four out of five games (his only action was when Schmidt was scratched), while Samberg has played every game. Samberg leapfrogged Stanley in the depth chart over a year ago and the Jets rewarded him for that.
