This ACGM is actually the perfect example that shows that some people really don’t understand this whole “cap dump” thing. To be a cap dump you need to have negative value vs your cap hit… Ottawa doesn’t even have a bad contract left, as Dorion already paid to move them (Zaitsev and Murray, plus many others before, some that you can still see in the dead cap)

Then they'll "get fleeced" by either giving away Brannstrom or Kubalik (maybe with a small sweetener attached) or by ponying up to move Joseph's contract. They're not going to trade a key piece of their blueline and a 1st for a marginal cap savings. Both the alternative of forcing Pinto to sit for a season and just up and trading him would be preferable to this.
