Toronto would do this for 4 reasons:
1. Cap space today
2. Prevents a cap problem when Timmins is healthy
3. Hoglander could have some upside that has been untapped because of the unstable organization in Vancouver.
4. Draft capital is key at the deadline.

Vancouver does this because:
1. Hoglander isn't making the top 12 so he is either going to sit in the press box or get lost on waivers. He's the 14th guy right now.
2. Jarnkrok is a major upgrade over Joshua or PDG on the third line.
3. Timmins has 6 points in 3 preseason games and played at a 50 point pace last year. Lots of questions around him (without which he is worth a 1st+++) he could be nothing or he could be a stud. I personally think he is more likely to contribute than a mid 2nd round pick.
