The only reason you would swap Norris for Zegras would be to sign Zegras to less money than Norris, specifically enough to sign Pinto.

Lol no thanks from Ottawa, you're either really over rating Zegras or underrating Norris. Not much of a gap between those two, obviously Zegras is more skilled but Norris is the better goal scorer and better defensively.

Yeah I see the benefit of ridding themselves of 2.9 Joseph, but as casual observer think the Sens culture and on ice play is better with Norris. (and and the first)

Not a chance Ottawa would do this. As a fan of Ottawa, I would be in front of the CTC with a pitchfork and torch if that happened. Norris is A+

There was an editorial somewhere recommending a Norris for Zegras swap with some minor additions from Ottowas side (Sokolov and maybe a 2nd if memory serves).

The argument being if you sign Z to 5AAV for 3, he can take the 2C spot, there's enough money for Pinto and keeping Joseph, plus you don't have the concern from Norris injury recovery.

1. Pinto wants 2.5 million over 2 years

2. You overpaid both Zegras and Bailey

3. Anaheim fleeces you

Norris is only 2 years older, he has already shown he can score goals at an ELITE rate (47 goals in 91 games as a 21-22 y/o prior to last season) and also is top notch defensively (some of the best metrics in his rookie season facing top competition every night)

Zegras is ultra skilled and has great potential but he's far from that goal scoring and defensive ability.

The fact that Ottawa would add a 1st + 2nd + 4th to end up paying Zegras more than Norris make it really bad.
