I like Verhaeghe but forcing Manson into 2nd pair minutes, handing a roster spot to a guy with 0 NHL games and running out Rosen or JJ makes the D-corps a lot less effective.

The Florida trade is slightly intriguing, but at the end of the day we need to get assets for whatever D we trade. Can't afford to take on cap space. The whole point of getting rid of a d-man is to clear space.

he's a solid defender with scoring potential, not an all-star by any means, but, he can cover up sloppy play while holding his own.
low cap hit, a perfect depth defender. We wouldn't let him go for anything lower than a 4th.

Completely understand. This is the first Rosen to Avs suggestion I've seen and frankly he wasn't even on my radar as someone to acquire before seeing this. Again, you have seen his more recent play so I trust that he's got that value. Just not even someone I think I would want to trade for at this time.

COL already had Rosen and he couldn’t make the team, and not a chance in hell COL trades Girard and a 1st for a winger, a high end 2C with term maybe but throw in the fact Manson might be still hurt and they aren’t trading a cost controlled puck moving young dman. Tatar is the amazing disappearing guy in the playoffs he is a hard pass and Drouin is going to run with Mack, expect to see RyJo with Rantanen anchor the second and Colton and Wood to anchor the 3rd. I expect RyJo to have a massive bounce back especially with extended time with Rantanen and probably a spot on PP1.

yeah I get that, he's not super well known but again hes a solid guy on a super cheap contract, the athletic put his value at around 2.1 million if I remember correctly

So again I point out that COL already had him and he couldn’t make the team that didn’t have Byram or Manson, hasn’t played more than 50 games in a season. He isn’t the kind of guy teams trade assets for, they claim him on waivers if they like him. I’d literally just as soon play Brad Hunt than they trade for Rosen.
