1) goodrow
2) Trouba
3) Kreider

For Trouba, it’s 15 teams no trade and have to assume it’s bottom feeders and Canada

Yes. Both Kreider and Trouba help the Leafs get tougher and score more different style goals and they won't cost as much as getting a gonna fide superstar who would be able to fill that role. Trouba's also a leader which would help JT and Reaves control the room

Yeah in my opinion I wish we could get rid of panarin before kreider but those pesky NMC. Also Schnieder needs the ability to play top 4 and if we have a locked up top 4 of lindgren fox miller Schnieder we are set for so long. A tip 6 of panarin zibby kakko laf chytil and add a player or put trocheck on wing. We'd be well off

If the Canes are unable to get a deal worked out with Pesce, I could see them having interest in Trouba at 6mil. Considering it would still be a cap move for the Rangers, I don’t think the Canes would be willing to move an extreme amount for Trouba, but the interest might be there.

I like Schneider but he hasn’t been all that impressive yet. His defense is still leaky and he’s only on the bottom pair

$2m retention obviously increases his price

Even retaining $2 mil, I wouldn’t be concerned about the return. They need to get the contract off the books to give Schneider a larger role and free up flexibility to sign Lindgren and Miller. Personally if we got a 2nd and a 3rd I’d be fine with the $2 mil retention. Not ideal, but we need more picks (getting carried away like the 2010’s is how you shorten your contention window). Plus I’m curious to see what we have in Garand at some point because I don’t think it’s smart to give Shesty $9.5 mil plus. Having an expensive Hank never got us a cup and I don’t think we should repeat the mistakes of the past. We need a better overall team and I’ll take a goalie platoon situation if it got us a deeper overall team. I know that’s definitely a hot take though.

Hanks contract wasn't the reason for no cup is was the poorly built offense and defense. We already have an elite defense and if laf kakko and chytil and become 60+ points guys well be fine on offense

I mean yes, but it’s not a necessity to have the best goalie in the league to win the cup. Fleury won, Murray, Binnington, Kuemper, Hill, Crawford. Just need a decent goalie and for them to get hot at the right time. Vasy, Quick and Holtby were dominant when they won, but I still don’t think it’s 100% needed.

If the leafs don’t resign nylander they’d have interest in Kreider

Kreider since he turned 30 has put up the following numbers in 2 regular seasons:

GP - 160 Goals - 88 Assists - 43 Points - 132 +/- - +40 Hits - 269 Corsi % of 55.1 two seasons ago and 58.4% last season. Fenwick % of 56.5% two seasons ago and 59.4% last season.

His numbers for last two years in the playoffs:

GP - 27 Goals - 16 Assists - 9 Points - 25 +/- -3 Hits - 65 Corsi % of 53.0 two seasons ago and 53.8 last season. Fenwick % of 52.3% two seasons ago and 56.5% last season. He was also the only forward that showed up vs the Devils last playoff with 6 goals and 3 assists in 7 games.

He is the best net front guy in the league screening goalies and tipping pucks and is great on the PP. He is a very good PK'er that is always a treat to score a shorthanded goal. He is big, durable, fast, and can play physical. He is a team leader and loved by his teammates and does all that for a whopping $6.5m/season, which is about 59% of Panarin's cap hit. Yeah, by all means, lets trade a player like that.

Trading Kreider is about as pennywise and pound foolish as it gets.

Neither has anything to do with a players value compared to his cost. Kreider is worth every cent he is paid.

I didn't ssy he wasn't worth his contract but when you give players like trocheck and panarin nmc someone else gets the short end of the stick

I don’t know if we’re watching the same team but Schneider hasn’t show anything really lol. He’s average at best and that’s mostly playing against 3rd/4th liners as a bottom pair

Trouba leaves a lot to be desired as well and he makes $8 mil. It’s a mess all around.

Trouba is definitely better defensively than Schneider, or at least looks it. Not to mention the role he plays mentoring the young kids like KAM

You are completely right about the Igor situation. Even putting the cap aside, NYR fans need to get used to the possibility that he might just leave when his deal is up. I don't think this is a Hank 2.0 situation where he is in love with the city and loyal to a fault and basically Mr. New York. We were spoiled with Hank and expect Igor to be the same but it just might not be the case here. And I wouldn't blame Igor for leaving. But as long as the Rangers organization employs Benoit Allaire I really have no worries about our goaltending.
