I think one of Carolina's biggest strengths is how the players play for eachother. You're definitely getting a lot of upgrades in this scenario, but it just strikes me like a team of mercenaries.

You also don't take into account the other team's needs. PHI wants futures not Teravainen. If CGY is selling Lindholm, then they don't need Skjei, because they're rebuilding, and have too many D. Essentially you're making your life easy by sending an upcoming UFA the other way and just expecting the other team to make it fit/sell at the deadline etc.

It might be because Im on the "trade mark now" train, but I don't mind this deal for the jets. JK is a C and was over 50% on faceoffs last year and has put up decent numbers in limited minutes (14+ last year). Plus he's on a longer term deal at a nice cap hit. Carolina would be "all in" if they made this deal but I like it for the jets

Not me. JK just isn't good enough. He's a passable 3C, but isn't beating out Lowry for 3C and doesn't have the offense necessary to play in the top 6. There's just no place for him.

The OP did say it isn't serious though. There's just not enough there to get a consistent, established 1C.

Andersen is a top 10 in the league goalie when he's healthy (Ex. last playoffs), Kochetkov is one of the best goalie prospects in the league, and Raanta is basically the perfect backup. I think we're set there.
