Description

Leafs offer up the better overall defensemen in Brodie but regain some hitting, tenacity and another RHD option in Boosh. Jarny and Olofsson are so similar in so many ways, but I think the Leafs need another legitimate PP shooting threat that VO provides. CJ is less than half the price of VO and adds stability and position flexibility with term. Both teams win from this and Buffalo has the room to help retain for this year. Leafs gain space moving forward for contract extensions with the hope the young guys win roster spots and replace goals.

Buffalo may still need Olofsson until Quinn is healthy and producing again. If he performs I’d think he ups his trade value and the Sabres can do better then this.

I don't see the Sabres helping another team like this. I mean, at best, it doesn't improve the Sabres in any meaningful way, it costs them more money and cap space, and helps a division rival with cap problems. Adams hasn't lifted a finger to help teams out with cap problems, I don't see him starting now, unless the benefit is too much to pass up.
