@RavensShadow
@csick My friend you make the best predictions.
It may be Jacob Chychrun as the BIG RHD UFA, remember he has a very close relationship with the Pegula family (not drafting him could have been the final straw that led to Murray firing).
I guess you could add two of Rosén, Wahlberg, Lindgren, or others to the scratch list.
Thank you for getting me even more excited about the future.
I particularly appreciate that you did not need to do any trades to make strong team.
Finally, looking at Cozens' and Thompson's contracts plus using Fox and Makar as comparables, along with "The Buffalo Discount", Dahlin may sign for less.

LOL, I get it with Skinner on the fourth line.
Can you imagine a pt/gm forward on the fourth line!
This could be possible as Benson, Kulich, Savoie, Oslund, Quinn, Peterka may out perform him.

Honestly, BUF could be pretty close in the coming season, and they have the depth coming to keep it going for many years. Their trajectory is very exciting! I had these kind of hopes for OTT too, but their pipeline seems more depleted now than I originally anticipated. I definitely think OTT's window is still coming soon, but the longevity of that window is a little less clear after the assets they've spent between last summer and this summer.

I absolutely take inspiration from BUF for my interpretation of and hopes for CHI's rebuild. This is why, no matter what people say, a team like CHI still has a ton of work to do. I keep seeing some pundits and fans of other teams say stuff like "CHI shouldn't squander Bedard's ELC" and proposing CHI load up to be a contender immediately. But, with the depth teams like BUF and NJD have and the blueprint they've laid out, CHI can't afford to take short cuts. If they are truly building for long term success, as Kyle Davidson has stated many times, he should be planning on bottom feeding for at least two more years, if not longer. That way he can load up the prospect pipeline even more, only adding in free agency or if he can get really good trade deals on players, not expending any high end assets.

I don’t think they get Chychrun. Chychrun’s home is in Ottawa and he probably re-signs and also Buffalo need a right shot D . Can’t have a top 4 of purely left shot guys.

Yeah. I feel like they will be pretty active the next two summers, and will be entering that "contender" conversation very soon, too. I Just wonder how long OTT will be able to sustain that success when they get there, given their more depleted pipeline/draft capital. I'm still hoping OTT's whole transition to the new owner will include a new GM that can navigate the next decade plus for them. Dorion doesn't have it in him, IMO. It's gonna be interesting seeing the transition of teams coming into contention and those on their way to mediocrity through the next handful of years, though!

My bad, somehow I thought he was right handed.
Did not know Jacob lived in Ottawa, as he attended American Heritage High School with Kelly and Matthew Pegula in Boca Raton, Florida.
Regardless, you made a great post and as I said it gets me even more excited about the future of the Sabres.
As you pointed out the power teams in the Atlantic will be moving away from Tampa/Boston/Toronto to Ottawa/Detroit/Buffalo over the next 3 years.

As fan I would be happy if that happened as long as his production didn't fall off. Personally I would disappointed because I think in the last few years he let his personality shine and I would sad to sees that for him personally

Didnt Pesce say no to waiving to the sabres? doubt he signs there.

I love projections like this though. This org is a cautionary tale of what happens when you wait too long for things to happen and assume all your prospects hit. Hopefully other rebuilding teams will learn from their mistakes.
