They need scoring and Trotz isn't afraid to pull the trigger on big moves. He was looking to make big trades at the draft.

We need to let our RW pipeline develop. Nylander will come here for a year then price himself out. Trotz wants players that want to win, not players who are just looking to be paid. It’s unlikely Trotz would bring him in then extend him worth more than our Captain.

Dubas traded away so many 1sts that it wouldn't be a bad idea to acquire a few. Good teams are built through the draft. Any Nylander trade would include at least a couple of high picks.

He'll make a trade similar to this to make room for Karlsson. And this trade helps both sides.

Your logic escapes me - why would Willy (or any player for that matter) demand more from Leafs than a different team. If nylander’s camp thinks he is worth $10M - why would he sign for less for a worse team?

I think this particular Leafs fan has Nylander not re-signing with Toronto no matter what. At least that's the impression I'm getting with his CFACGMs. It's like the Red Wings poster who hates Lucas Raymond and has him traded in each one of his CFACGMs.
