Idk that the Sabres/Leafs make a deadline deal this year
Both teams looking at the playoffs, so unlikely to deal with each other imo

If this is deadline deal with the Caps then they will be selling which means they won't be spending a 1st. They'll probably just eat half of Willy's contract to make it an even swap.

Olofsson is a defensive liability. Not at all what you'd want to add at the TDL

Yet another terrible Tom Wilson trade authored by a Leafs fan that the Capitals aren’t going to do. The Caps will not add substantially to Tom Wilson for William Nylander. The Caps are unlikely to trade future 1sts for ANYTHING.

I'd 100% do that as Buffalo. Jarnkrok is extremely underrated.

Leafs have signed their physical forwards. Now let's not be foolish on who is the better player by a ton. Wilson injury issues is a question and he is 2 years older than Willie. Wilson has 1 season with over 50 points and Willie has 5 playing 2 less years. Obviously Wilson brings a physical element Willie has none but the leafs have already added Bert and Domi for the top 9 and Reaves who can straighten out anyone in the league if they take liberties on the leafs. If Willie is traded, it should be for a 20-25 goal scorer and a nasty RD.

I doubt this would happen. Kevyn Adam's doesn't like making big trade deadline moves. If Olofsson does get trade it's going to be early in the year so team can get his goal production.

How much would you give up to get Boeser at the dead line?
What about DeBrincat?
None of Alex, Brock nor Victor are noted for their defense, they get paid for their goal scoring capabiities.
Over the last four seasons Boeser has played 583:45 more minutes than Olofsson but has one less goal (80 v Olofsson's 81).
Two seasons since they both signed new contracts each Boeser goal cost $309,302 while each Olofsson goal cost $197,917.
Last season Brock played over 60% of the time with one of Miller, Horvat or Petterson as his line mate.
Last season Victor played about 10% of the time with our top two centers Cozens or Thompson.
Last season he had more goals than DeBrincat yet he played 483 fewer minutes.
Finally, only 22 NHL forwards scored at a faster rate than victor's 1.6 goals/60 last year.

Remove Järnkrok (unless he is being added to balance the cap) and make it the worse of WAS or TOR first round picks to make it is a fair trade if Olofsson is still producing next year as he did this year.

I don’t see the Sabres making a move like this “now”
With Quinn hurt, i think Adams will value what Olofsson brings in the scoresheet- especially since his 5v5 numbers have improved so much

The way I see it is Olofsson isn't worth a 1st or anything close to it. He's a liability when he's on the ice which is why Buffalo is trying to offload him. My guess is that Buffalo will have to add a sweetener to move Olofsson
